Field-Trip Friday: Chairs Edition!

A couple of Fridays ago we took a spontaneous road-trip up to Columbia for the Art of Seating exhibition at the Columbia Museum of Art. Here are a few pics we snapped before being told to quit that… which is a shame really, because the exhibit was good looking, and surely posting pics on Instagram would drum up some visitors, right? I digress.

Nate and Adam’s favorite chair was the Navy Chair – something ubiquitous now, but who knew it was designed in 1944 to withstand life on submarines and warships?! Lindsay hit the giftshop for a print of an Eames rocking chair by Perla Anne plus a teeny Eames DSW chair for her growing collection of very small things. It was a fun and inspiring trip, and we’re having fun dreaming up our own chair designs…
