Our Live/Work Space

161 King Street, Upstairs

When it was time to find a spot for our fledgling business, the search quickly turned from purely office space to a live/work space. The most promising was a vague post on Craigslist for a 1900 square-foot upstairs apartment in the heart of Charleston’s Antique District. A little research revealed it was part of what was considered the slums of Charleston in the 1940’s. Sweet? We put our rose-colored glasses and peered inside... and rolled up our sleeves...

Two months, 5 gallons of white paint and 52 cabinets later, Nate and Adam were moving into a spacious, beautifully refinished home with the front room converted to a big, communal office! We built custom desks at the windows so we each have a priceless 2nd-story view of one of the nicest, quietest stretches of King Street. Out back is what we like to call Patio 161, which has been transformed into a sanctuary for growing fresh produce and enjoying cold beers, and has already proven itself worthy of engagement parties for close friends.
